Hello!
After my more serious post earlier today (I'm really glad I went for it), I'm back with a manicure befitting of the drizzly weather we were having this morning here in North East England!
For my manicure I painted my nails a pale blue, Barry M Huckleberry, with the exceptions of my ring fingernails which I painted with Filthy Gorgeous Opulence. It's a gorgeous full glitter, silver sparkles in a blue-tinted base which give a look just like rain showers. Unfortunately the glitter and the brand in general seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth which is a crying shame.
Onto my middle fingernails I stamped on an umbrella from my Cheeky Home Sweet Home plate. A slick of top coat and away I went!
A nice little cheer-me-up for a rainy day :-)
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Feathered Grunge Manicure!
Hello!
On Tuesday I showed you Grunge by Filthy Gorgeous, and after I photographed it on its own I decided to top it with some purple feather water decals from Born Pretty Store. They have a lovely gold glittered stem; I applied some feathers whole and cut a couple in half.
Here it is!
Sadly I looked in both Newcastle Poundland shops for more Filthy Gorgeous polishes and I only found one solitary bottle, a brown colour that I didn't much like. Hopefully the Gateshead store might have some left!
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Filthy Gorgeous ~ Grunge
Hello!
Here is another polish that I really shouldn't have bought but saw it in Poundland and couldn't resist. This one was particularly irresistable as Filthy Gorgeous nail polishes retail for £9 in department stores!
Grunge is a mauve-y neutral creme, a very pleasant colour. The formula was lovely and I needed 2 coats for opacity. Here it is:
If you see Filthy Gorgeous polishes in Poundland I recommend you snap them up - what a bargain!!!
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Rainy Day Manicure
Hello!
The weather is being a little temperamental here in North-East England but I am hoping the heat is dying down a bit as we've had some rain and thunder in recent days! I was therefore inspired to do this "rainy day" manicure :-)
Don't my fingers look extra-chubby with short nails?! I am loving the change though.
The glitter polish is Opulence by Filthy Gorgeous (I seem to have monopolised Google Images with swatches of this polish of varying quality). The little umbrellas come from Cheeky's Home Sweet Home stamping plate.

Lisa xx

Sally Hansen ~ Lagoon
Hello!
Yet another market stall find here - Lagoon, a lovely shimmering turquoise. I haven't seen a lot of nail colour by Sally Hansen, it's mostly their nailcare products that you see (I don't know if there's a difference in the US?). The bottle is a bit unfashionable but you do get a lot of polish! At a bargain £1.99 I couldn't pass it up.
Here are two coats. I have to say that the VNL you see in the natural light photos was not at all visible when I applied the polish the night before - the polish applied wonderfully and looked great. I'm not sure it's 100% 'my colour', but somehow I like it anyway.

Also, I had a flash of inspiration and wanted to fo a funky French mani with Filthy Gorgeous' ice blue glitter Opulence as the tip. Here it is!
Ugh, that flash pic really doesn't show off the polish well!!

Filthy Gorgeous Opulence, an all-out glitter celebration!
Merry Christmas Eve Eve! ^_^
I haven't posted in the past couple of days (oops!) so will post a couple of manis tonight to make up for it.
I will start with what I'm wearing right now: in the run-up to Christmas I wanted to go all-out with my sparkliest, most smile-inducing glitter, and I decided upon Opulence by Filthy Gorgeous!

I did add a coat of INM's silver holo glitter, but its warm sparkle contrasted with the ice cold blue of Opulence so I'm quite glad it doesn't show up too well in the end result!
My mani sparkles so, so festively and definitely cheers me up!

Random Polish Pick ~ Vivid Violet!
Hello!
In life I tend to be a comfort-zone girl and go for the same things over and over ~ the same meal at a restaurant, the same Starbucks, etc. Today I wanted to go for a polish I wouldn't automatically pick,so I used the high-tech randomisation technique of closing my eyes, sticking my hand over my polish collection and picking the first one I grabbed XD
I ended up picking No7's Vivid Violet, a nice purple shimmer. I made the mani my own by adding a super-sparkly accent nail of Filthy Gorgeous' Opulence.

Filthy Gorgeous ~ Opulence
Glitter ahoy!
On Thursday I was walking through Fenwick, a posh Newcastle department store, on my way to university (which failed miserably... I felt too ill after an hour and had to leave :-( ). They had two new displays of this brand Filthy Gorgeous, one of which was a selection of 3D glitters, and I snapped one up. It cost £9, way over my budget ~ I have no idea what I was thinking but looking down at my nails right now I am kinda glad I'm so crazy!
The polish I chose is called Opulence, a densely packed silver-blue glitter in a transparent blue base. Here are two coats in natural light:

Wow! It really does pop and looks... well... opulent! This polish cheers me up every time I look down at my nails ^_^
I had never heard of the brand Filthy Gorgeous before but it seems really cool! Here's a quick photo of the bottle showing off the lace-print cap and the cool plectrum charm that comes with the bottle:

As for the £9 price tag... I won't moan too much since I was the one silly enough to go over my budget and buy it ;-) If the price is fine for you I would definitely recommend checking this 3D glitter range out!!!
Hugs,
Lisa xx
