Hello!
This is a manicure I would have liked back when I was a goth! I used to love wearing lace gloves. For the mani I did black French tips then stamped on some white lace using my Born Pretty L020 stamping plate...

January Nail Art Challenge: Forest Creatures
Hello!
I'm taking part in clairestelle8's January Nail Art Challenge, and the theme for the 17th was Forest Creatures! Luckily for Christmas I received MoYou's Enchanted 01 stamping plate, which features a whole host of forest creatures in gorgeous leafy designs.
I chose Facets of Fuchsia by Revlon as my base polish for a deep, mysterious twinkle. I decided my forest creatures would be a curious bear and majestic owl, so I painted Konad White and Models Own Chrome Green onto the stamping plate for a contrast between the animal and the surrounding leafy design. I stamped more Chrome Green leaves onto my index and pinky nails as a border for my animals!
The next theme in the challenge is Clocks. It's maddening because I have a specific stamping image I want to use, but I can't find the plate and I think it's stuck down the side of some furniture somewhere. Oh noooooo.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Paris Manicure
Hello!
I've done a manicure to honour those in Paris because I have a personal connection to the city and it feels right to note this on my blog. I studied French at university and, as part of my course, I lived in the banlieue (outskirts) of Paris and was a teaching assistant to schoolchildren who will now be in their late teens. I only hope that they are safe and well.
I also want to say that I support everyone's different ways of commemorating (or not) the multiple tragedies that have happened in the world over this past week. We're only human. For those seeking to help in a practical way, it looks to me like the charity Direct Relief is doing amazing work all around the world to respond to disasters.
For my manicure I did a simple Eiffel Tower motif over black. The design is from MoYou's Tourist 07 stamping plate, which I stamped on with Konad White over W7 Black.
A tout le monde à Paris... je pense à vous et je vous souhaite le courage et la sécurité pour ce nouvelle semaine.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Time for Tea Manicure
Hello!
Today's mani is very bright and totally British. I wanted to try the teacup pattern on my new MoYou Tourist 05 plate and decided to do it in the colours of the Union Jack. On my thumb I stamped the clock face of Big Ben ^_^
For my base colours I used Sinful Colors' Snow Me White and Nails Inc's Baker Street, and for the stamping I used Konad's black and white stamping polishes and Barry M's Pomegranate.
I adore the teacup pattern and want to use it again and again! The colours of this mani would normally be too garish for me but I really wanted to do a first try of these stamping images with a British feel.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Floral Purple French
Hello!
I cut my nails short over the weekend as the cold weather really wasn't doing them any favours, so I will be experimenting with ideas for short nails for a little while!
Today's manicure is a purple French tip with white floral stamping over it. For the tips I used page reinforcer stickers as guides and painted further down than my natural nail tip - I have long nail beds and this makes my nails look nicely in proportion! I then painted a coat of MeMeMe's Graceful, a sheer French shade, then stamped over the lot using Konad plate m71.
I feel this French look is great for people like me with short nails yet long nail beds and long fingertips. When I cut my nails I'm only left with 1-2mm of white at most and it always looks a bit rubbish for a while!
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Frills & Dots Manicure
Hello!
Today I tried a manicure idea that didn't work out too well, but I wanted to show you anyway :-)
For my base colour I painted 3 coats of OPI's Don't Touch My Tutu!, a sheer white shade. Then I stamped the ribbon frill pattern from Konad's m71 plate down the side of my nail. On the rest of the nail I stamped polka dots using this plate from KKCenterHK.
As you can see the fail is in my clumsy stamping! I didn't quite get the frilly edge aligned right and my dots are a bit haphazard. I still quite like the idea though so never mind, at least I tried!
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Two Stamping Manicures
Hello!
Today I have for you two stamping manicures that didn't stay on long but were still quickly photographed. I bought a squishy stamper for the terribly cheap price of £1.52 (here is the link to it on eBay) and the change is taking some getting used to - my manis aren't quite perfect yet!
Here is the first manicure. I started with a base of Sally Hansen's Lavender Cloud and stamped on a blossom pattern in lilac from MoYou's Pro 07 plate. I then topped it with the birdcages from Cheeky's Home Sweet Home Plate. All the stamping in this post is done with Konad polish.
And for the second manicure I painted a base of OPI's I Vant To Be A-Lone Star then stamped on a floral pattern, again from MoYou's Pro 07 plate:
The problem with the birdcage mani is that the blossom pattern stamped on too "wet" and the birdcages were wonky. With the floral mani I made a mistake on my dominant hand and was too quick with the Seche Vite, smudging the whole thing!
How silly am I? Let's hope the next stamping attempt will go a little better.

31 Day Challenge ~ Inspired by Nature
Hello!
Today's challenge is to do a manicure inspired by nature, and I just had to break out my Nailz Craze plate and try my first butterfly mani! There are so many inspiring manis out there with a myriad of gradient and colour combinations, just like in nature.
For my base colour I chose Layla's Red Taboo, a gorgeous red holo. I stamped the butterfly design on using Konad Black then dotted on white spots to finish. Here it is, in natural light and with flash to show off the holo:
Eeeee, I love butterfly manis! Next time I'm going to try a gradient or duochrome.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

31 Day Challenge ~ Stamping
Hello!
Today's challenge is to do a stamping mani, which suits me as it's my favourite kind of nail art! And this time I had some odd inspiration in the shape of a box of Thornton's chocolates...
...the height of luxury, I know ;-)
I had just received OPI's My Vampire Is Buff in the post, which I am ecstatic about - a gorgeous new cream shade! - and it just so happened to perfectly match my box of choccies. So I used it as a base and stamped black swirls across my nails, with accents of writing and a pink ribbon. Here they are!
I am really, really quite pleased with this! The only concern is that I haven't top-coated it yet, and I have yet to master a smudge-free finish with Konad's black stamping polish. I am planning to try "setting" my nails in cold water first.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

31 Day Challenge ~ Geometric
Hello!
Today's challenge is a bit different for me because I usually go for more feminine manis rather than a harsh geometric design - but I did have a Bundle Monster design that I wanted to try out, and today seemed like the perfect opportunity!
The design comes from plate BM320 and is comprised of a cascade of linked squares - very cool! For my base I used Sally Hansen's Ion, a light grey with a hint of beige, and I stamped over it with Konad Black. Here it is!
It is nice to sometimes veer off from my usual style and to try something new - I am definitely a fan of this stamping design and am excited to see my fellow challengers' geometric manis which are linked below!
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Konad Stamping Polish ~ Pastel Violet
Hello!
Again, my apologies for the sporadic posting - life has thrown me a few lemons and I'm trying to smile through. One definite thing to have cheered me up is my current manicure! A little while ago I bought Konad's Pastel Violet stamping polish from Nail Delights and I have finally gotten around to using it in a wonderfully delicate mani.
For my base colour I used Sally Hansen's Lavender Cloud and chose the delicate floral pattern from Konad's m71 plate to adorn it with my new stamping polish. Here it is:
The pastel violet stamps so well and I am so glad! Forgiving my couple of stamping smears it is perfectly opaque and clear (my middle fingernail shows its full potential). I forsee trying out a lot more delicate and feminine manicure ideas with this colour.
I can't afford new polishes at all right now, which really could be a good thing as I already have so many polishes and nail art combinations left to try. Illamasqua's blue speckled polish and a couple of the new Barry M textures are most definitely on my wishlist for when (if ever!) I can buy them, but for now I will keep delving into my collection and hopefully will be up to posting the results here!

Ivory Lace, Stamped
Hello!
Yesterday I showed you Ivory Lace by Accessorize, just the dreamy kind of cream colour I can't resist! Today I decided to add an extra delicate touch by stamping a pattern in white over it. The design I chose is from Konad's m83 plate, and here it is:
^_^
Judging from your comments I'm not alone in loving these delicate shades and am not the only one who will struggle with a bad application for a beautiful polish!!!

BM307 and BM308 ~ Pastry Nails!
Hello!
For this mani I took yesterday's hot pink Vivacious by MeMeMe as a base, then used the full-nail cupcake design on plate BM307 for my thumbs, and the doughnut and muffin on BM308 alternated on my fingers. Stamping polish is Konad's Special White. Here it is!
Delicious!

Stamping ~ Silver on Indigo
Hello!
Along with this mani I did my very first tutorial! It's at http://happynailsuk.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html . When I first started stamping I had trouble getting the image to transfer, so thought it might be useful for other polishers? Please excuse the poor lighting, and I was a bit nervous!!
The polishes I used were No7's Violetta as the base purple, and 17's Moonstruck for the stamping. The design is from Konad's m71 plate. Here we are:

Pastel with Lace Stamping
Aargh! I just clicked something in my Pictures folder and now my new polish photos aren't where they used to be and nothing I click can make them resurface to the top of the folder :"-( Boo!
My mani today is 17's pale lavender Woo Me with white lace stamped over the tips using my Konad m71 plate. I really, really wanted this colour on my nails before I applied it, but now it's on I want to change it! How silly of me. Anyway, it still does look pretty...

Sorry about my ragged nails there, I'd just done a bad job of cutting and filing them *blush*
Before I go, here are some extra pics of Woo Me on its own ~ as I already mentioned a while back, it is my favourite polish! I'll need to get a new bottle soon as mine is running out!

*Hello!
I have discovered that OPI's Meep-Meep-Meep looks great matte - the photos below don't show it as well as in the flesh, but the shimmery flecks look wonderful. Today I've put gems on each nail over matte Meep-Meep-Meep, and the last photo shows a stamping effort I tried yesterday xx

Hello ^_^
This is a wintry stamping idea that I wanted to try out - a purple and blue snowdrop flower on a white base, covered with a snowfall of glitter!

Lace Stamping Mani ^_^
For this mani I painted 3 coats of OPI's Play The Peonies (I really wish I had the full-size bottle of this rather than the mini) then stamped a lace pattern from Konad's m71 plate using No7's Stand Back, a cheerful blue. To top it off I added aqua gems on a couple of accent nails ^_^
