Hello!
This is just a quick post to clarify my blog's name change! I am going from being Happy Nails to Geordie Nails :-)
When I first created this blog I didn't really have any long-term plan or any clue about the nail polish blogging world, and I chose a name that turned out to already be used by a girl in America! Although I really love the name Happy Nails, it doesn't feel right to use a name that I know isn't original.
As for the new name, a Geordie is someone who comes from the North East of England, specifically Tyneside. I was born and bred in Gateshead and have lived and studied in Newcastle, and I love my cities! I also blog about a lot of British brands as well, so hopefully the name will be fitting :-)

Nails Inc. ~ Bedford Square
Hello!
Bedford Square is one of my Nails Inc bargain haul. It's a gold micro-glitter with larger copper pieces and a holographic sprakle, very festive. Here are 3 coats with 2 of top coat:
Sooo sparkly.
This polish doesn't completely suit me; it kind of fades into my skin tone as I look at it, despite how amazingly sparkly it is. It is very gritty/sandy - I might even add a third layer of top coat - but once you've got a smooth finish it is just as beautiful as in the bottle. Not entirely for me, but a fab unique polish all the same.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

MeMeMe ~ Innocent and Graceful
Hello!
Today I am showing you two of the MeMeMe polishes I got for my birthday. I'd describe them both as French shades; Innocent is a nude ivory, while Graceful is a nude pink. I have a bit of a thing for French sheers, and squeal over a beautifully even coverage - and these two have the most even coverage I've found! Squealy time!
This first photo shows 2 coats of each polish: Innocent on the middle and pinky, Graceful on the index and ring:
And here are 3 coats of each:
Ahh! Oh this makes me so happy. I think in future I'll be using these as a base with a little delicate stamping.
Hugs,
Lisa xx

BM301 ~ Gradient
Hello!
For today's post I tried out the gradient design on stamping plate BM301. I figured if it worked it would be a great "quick fix" gradient, less messy than sponging! For my base colour I used the purple Nails Inc that came free with InStyle magazine a little while back, and for the darker stamping colour I used No7's Violetta. Here is the result:
It is fab! Of course it's not the natural fade you would get with a sponge, but it looks great to me. I would try it again with a foil polish, as Violetta didn't have quite a strong enough pigment for such a solid design.
Hugs,

BM312 ~ Clouds
Hello!
I think this pattern from plate BM312 is open to interpretation, but to me it looks like blustery clouds!
As a base colour I used Pensive by MeMeMe, a beautiful pale green that applies wonderfully and one that I think I'll be using often! I then stamped over in white. Here it is :-)
Yay!
This makes for such a cute manicure and I love it. I also have to comment on what a godsend the new larger-sized designs are on this new BM set ~ they are more than big enough to cover my nails in one go, including thumbs :-)

Lisa xx

BM307 and BM308 ~ Pastry Nails!
Hello!
For this mani I took yesterday's hot pink Vivacious by MeMeMe as a base, then used the full-nail cupcake design on plate BM307 for my thumbs, and the doughnut and muffin on BM308 alternated on my fingers. Stamping polish is Konad's Special White. Here it is!
Delicious!

MeMeMe ~ Vivacious
Hello!
Today I have for you a polish I got for my birthday as part of MeMeMe's Groupon deal a couple of weeks back. It's a hot pink called Vivacious!
The cool thing with this polish is, at one coat, it could be used as a jelly. I'll experiment with it some time, right now my nails are in a state (they're drying out and you can see the bumps through my polish :-( ). Below are 3 coats, first in natural light then with flash:
It's cheeky and girly and a great addition to my collection! Love it :-)

BM301 ~ Leafing Design
Hello!
This post shows my first forays into stamping with the new Bundle Monster set I received for my birthday :-) I'm starting with the first plate, BM301, but will be choosing the plates randomly as designs jump out at me!
I wasn't sure what to call this pattern, but it looks to me like the flaky opulence of precious metal leaf. My base colour is Rimmel's Lively Lilac (not really "lively" but a pretty colour all the same!), and for the stamping I used MeMeMe's Loyal, another birthday present. It's a silver foil and happily it stamps really well! Here is the mani:
And here is the stamping plate itself (after use!):
I really, really love this design. I think it would look better with a more contrasted colour pairing though, and I want to try it with my gold and bronze MeMeMes! What do you think?
Hugs,
Lisa xx

Rainbow Week ~ Pink
Hello!
This is the final day of Rainbow Week! It has been really helpful in getting me back to blogging, it's hard when your mood, energy and motivation are so low. I'll try to continue after today; I've been thinking of showcasing manis using my new BM stamping plates :-)
Today is Pink Day! Again I have lots of lovely pinks, but there was only one choice as a favourite: the one I have 3 bottles of! It's 17's Sweet Kisses, a gorgeous vintage pastel pink. Here it is:
Love, love, love!

Nails Inc. ~ Holly Place
Hello!
Today I am showing you a polish I got as part of an amazing one-day deal ~ £15 for 5 full-size Nails Inc. polishes, beautiful ones at that! Holly Place is an ultra fine glitter. Personally I would describe the colour as silver with a shimmer that shifts between pink and champagne depending on the light. It applied beautifully and was opaque in 2 coats! Out of all the Nails Inc polishes I own, this one has impressed me the most in terms of actual polish quality. Here it is, 2 coats with top coat:
Purdy, purdy, purdy. It gives your nails unmistakeable glitter and wow factor, without blinding unsuspecting "Muggles"!

Lisa xx
