A Pair of Snowflake Manicures!

Hello!

Now that it's December I've started to go a little festive with my manicures, and today I have two blue snowflake looks to show you - Winter Butterfly and Shimmering Sweater.

For my butterfly mani I layered some stamping to get a snowflake-patterned wing effect. I started with a base colour of Blueberry Muffin by Models Own, then stamped on some snowflakes from one of my Bundle Monster plates. On top went the lovely butterfly wings from Nailz Craze plate NC01. As well as finishing with top coat I painted a layer of it between the two stamping designs, so they wouldn't muddle together.

Next I did a very shiny Christmas pattern mani! My mam chose the colour for this one; the result is nice and festive. I started with Blue Odyssey by Max Factor then stamped on the snowflake sweater pattern from my other Nailz Craze plate, NC03, using Holographic Hero by Gosh.

Madam Glam ~ Beyond Gorgeous

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Lately I've been reviewing nail polishes from Madam Glam, a 5-free, cruelty-free and vegan make-up brand with a range of gorgeous nail polishes including standout colours and unique, indie-style glitters. I was sent a mix of both - today I am showing you a sparkling glitter called Beyond Gorgeous, and here are the polishes I've reviewed already:

I also have a very generous 40% off coupon code for my readers to use, very handy if you're doing your Christmas shopping or wishlist to Santa! It's BFGeordienails.

Today's nail polish is called Beyond Gorgeous. It's a light green holo sparkle glitter, fresh and sparkling and glitzy. You can wear it alone in 2-3 coats, use it as a rich topper glitter or do what I did and sponge it onto your nail tips for a glitter gradient! I found it was perfect for that thanks to its tinted colour and flash of holo.

This first photo is of my glitter tips...

...and here is Beyond Gorgeous swatched! My index and middle fingernails have two coats of Beyond Gorgeous alone, and my ring and pinky nails have one coat over the vampy purple Text Me Later:

I specifically asked if I could receive this polish in my review pack and I wasn't disappointed. It's a gorgeous glitter that applied well and sparkled brilliantly ^_^

I hope you like these Madam Glam polishes as much as I do! I genuinely love the formulas, colours and sparkles of my review pack and it was nothing but a pleasure to try them.

Madam Glam ~ Cinderella Shoes

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Holo Sparkle Alert! Cinderella Shoes was sent to me for review by the lovely Madam Glam, along with a hefty 40% discount code for my readers to use - BFGeordienails. Is anyone still adding to their Christmas wishlist? I'm still spotting bits and pieces online even though we're already in December!

Cinderella Shoes is nothing less than a showstopper. It's a pink holo sparkle polish and the bottle is absolutely packed with glitter. In two coats my nails were like ten glitterballs and it took my breath away! Despite the glitter density it applied nice and smoothly. I used two coats of top coat because I like my glitters to be super-glossy, but I could have gotten away with one.

Here it is - two coats, no colour underneath - along with a flash photo to try and show you just how sparkly this polish is:

I might even wear this on Christmas Day... it's just so festive and sparkly!

I have one more Madam Glam glitter to show you, stay tuned!

Hugs,

Lisa xx

Madam Glam ~ Endless Passion

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

This post is about Endless Passion by Madam Glam, the second polish in my review pack! It was sent to me along with a huge 40% discount code for my readers - it's BFGeordienails. I've already reviewed the vampy purple Text Me Later, and then I unfortunately had a bad spell with my health so couldn't blog for a while. I'm sorry for the delay, but lovely polish pics are upcoming!

Endless Passion is a strong, vampy, blood-red creme. Application was smooth and solid, going on in two coats, and I found the shade perfect for the darker months. First I swatched the polish on its own and then I stamped on a plaid pattern in gold for a Winter tartan manicure!

Coming up I have two sparkling holo glitter polishes to show you! Stay tuned!

Madam Glam ~ Text Me Later

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Madam Glam have sent me a pack of four of their nail polishes to review! They are a US company that ships all over the world. Their nail polish range has a mix of truly unique and beautiful indie glitters along with gorgeous, glossy colours. I also have a very hefty discount code for you! The code BFGeordienails will give the first 10 users 40% off, then 30% off thereafter.

The first polish I chose to wear is called Text Me Later. It's a vampy purple creme and it felt like just the right choice for the darkening days. Application was super smooth, going on perfectly in 2 coats. I'd describe it as creamy, rich and super-glossy. I genuinely love the polish which is always good when you're reviewing!

Here are 2 coats with no top coat:

It really is glossy! That formula along with the rich aubergine colour is what makes me truly love it ^_^

I will be back with more Madam Glam swatches for you as I try out my review pack!

Blue Floral Foil Manicure

Hello!

I am very excited because yesterday I received my latest order from Charlies Nail Art in the post, and today I received a new review pack of nail polishes to try! That's a lot to keep me busy and my nails decorated.

Right now I am wearing a nail foil from my Charlies order! It cost 39p for the sheet and it's a blue floral pattern with shining silver accents. I applied it over a dark blue, Blackberry by Barry M. Here it is...

It looks really pretty and professional on my nails; I'm very happy. I had to take the photo in my kitchen doorway though because it was raining so heavily!

Be back soon with more manis.

Hugs,

Paris Manicure

Hello!

I've done a manicure to honour those in Paris because I have a personal connection to the city and it feels right to note this on my blog. I studied French at university and, as part of my course, I lived in the banlieue (outskirts) of Paris and was a teaching assistant to schoolchildren who will now be in their late teens. I only hope that they are safe and well.

I also want to say that I support everyone's different ways of commemorating (or not) the multiple tragedies that have happened in the world over this past week. We're only human. For those seeking to help in a practical way, it looks to me like the charity Direct Relief is doing amazing work all around the world to respond to disasters.

For my manicure I did a simple Eiffel Tower motif over black. The design is from MoYou's Tourist 07 stamping plate, which I stamped on with Konad White over W7 Black.

A tout le monde à Paris... je pense à vous et je vous souhaite le courage et la sécurité pour ce nouvelle semaine.

Geordie Nails' Essentials!

Hello!

This morning I thought it'd be interesting to gather up some of the most useful nail items that I use every day and take a quick pic of them! Some are specific gems, some are generic essentials and some are household items that are surprisingly useful. I'll do a list with product names and links to buy the items where applicable...

Washing-up Sponge: You can use this for gradients, sponging on sparse glitters to get more coverage, applying tattoo-style water decals... very handy!

Glass Nail File: I received mine for review from Mont Bleu and have used it every day since to keep my nails in a neat squoval shape.

Boots Double-Faced Cotton Pads: These are for removing my nail polish. I always buy the double-faced ones because they don't fall apart when soaked with remover.

Boots Essentials Nail Polish Remover: I hugely recommend this. It only costs £1 yet it does its job perfectly and doesn't dry your skin out at all. Amazing.

Wooden Cuticle Sticks: I use these for cleaning up nail polish from my cuticles as I go along. I buy them cheap from either Tesco or Superdrug and couldn't do my nails without them.

Origami Paper: This is a random one, but I just use these little pieces of paper to wipe my cuticle sticks on as I go (and also to make little origami birds of course).

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter: I'm on my 4th tub of this and use it every time I remove nail polish to moisturise my cuticles. I know lots of nail bloggers recommend this and with good reason!

French Tip Guides: Little stickers for getting a perfect French tip, or something more creative. Charlies Nail Art (linked) sells sheets of them for 25p.

Page Reinforcer Stickers: You get these from the stationery section! They're meant for ring binders but you can use them for half-moon manis and extra curvy French tips.

Cotton Buds: Soaked in nail polish remover, they're essential for cuticle cleanup.

Konad Black & White Stamping Polishes: Stamping is my favourite nail art technique and I go to my two bottles of Konad very often to get a good, solid pattern. I tend to shop for these on Amazon.

Stampers: Squishy stampers are my favourite! They're handy for getting full-nail patterns to apply well. My rectangular stamper was sent to me for review from Born Pretty Store, and I found the circular one on eBay.

Nail Glue: Great for getting rhinestones and charms to stay on your nails! I don't use mine that often but it's still very useful to have around.

Nail Polish Thinner: I have hundreds of bottles of nail polishes and swear by this to keep them useable. When you feel like one of your polishes is getting too thick, you just add a few drops of this. I use the brand Profile and am on my second bottle despite a little bit going a long way!

Sèche Vite Top Coat: I am also on my second bottle of this... my second salon-sized bottle. It dries quickly, adds lovely gloss to your nails and the big bottle set is a bargainous £18.49 on Amazon.

OPI Natural Nail Base Coat: This also dries quickly and does its job as a base coat wonderfully.

Peel-Off Base Coat: This is great for making glitter manicures easily removable, especially if you're not planning on wearing the mani for long. I use Miss Sporty's version but I have a strong suspicion that it is actually PVA glue... which I would recommend for cheapness ;-)

Matte Top Coat: With these you can mattify any nail polish and do manicure ideas like a chalkboard mani. I found my Nails Inc version on sale at a market stall, but quite a few high street brands offer matte top coats at a good price - I can think of Barry M, Models Own and Rimmel.

Mademoiselle by Essie: I'm including this polish because I love sheer polishes and use them very often! They're great for a traditional French or as a base for nail art, and the blushing Mademoiselle is especially lovely.

Phew!!! This list isn't exhaustive, but they are what comes to mind when I think of my essentials. Do you use any of these? Am I missing anything? Let me know!

Jewelled Raindrops Manicure

Hello!

It's been starting to rain a lot here in England, and of course it's getting darker. I wanted to turn this into something positive and do a deep, sparkling raindrop manicure!

For my dark sparkles I chose the gorgeous Facets of Fuschia by Revlon. I added top coat to make the raindrops stand out on top, which I stamped on using Born Pretty stamping plate BP-L013. Extra top coat made my mani lovely and glossy!

Cold Comforts Manicure

Hello!

Today's mani was inspired by the steadily cooling, darkening days! I wanted to represent reading a book whilst sipping a Starbucks and wearing a woolly jumper, all on my nails. So I got out some of my MoYou stamping plates!

For the thumb I did a chalkboard coffee shop menu, stamping on the menu design from plate Cook Book 04 over black nail polish and using a matte top coat. For the index, middle and pinky nails I painted on a textured pink polish, Kingsland Road by Barry M, then used plate Fashionista 03 to add a knit pattern in silver (for a festive jumper!). And for the ring fingernail I stamped some text from plate Literature 01 over a cream colour. For a finishing touch I stamped a light coffee stain on top!

I'm sleeping a lot right now so it's hard for me to get out and take photos of my nails in the few hours of daylight that we have - I'm wearing a mani that's needed photographing for 2 days now! But I will be back on Friday with a post, I promise ^_^

Metallic Hearts Manicure

Hello!

Last night I cut my nails short as I fancied a change ^_^ Whenever I do this I get the urge to have something cute on my nails, so this time I went for a blue heart manicure and darkened it up a bit since it's November!

I started off with a base of Sally Hansen's Navy Baby and used my Born Pretty Store BP-L013 stamping plate to add a pattern of little hearts. My stamping polish was Models Own's Chrome Blue. Here it is!

Apologies for the slightly late blog post today - it's a combination of me not feeling very well and there being less hours of daylight in which to take photos outside!

Tiger Butterfly Manicure

Hello!

We are now in November! I don't mind the cooler weather but the shorter days are a pain as they mean less time and less light for me to photograph my nails outside - especially since I'm not feeling too well at the moment. Nevertheless, I have a mani to show you ^_^

I wanted a shade to suit the month but which would still provide some exciting sparkle, and the polish that came to mind was my mini bottle of OPI Jinx! It's a rich, deep orange/gold shimmer reminiscent of a sunset or Autumn leaves. On its own it's a textured polish, but I smoothed it out with top coat in order to use it as a base for some butterfly wing stamping. I used one of the designs on my MoYou Kitty 12 stamping plate and added pieces of white glitter to complete the wings.

Because of Jinx's colour it ended up looking a bit like tiger stripes, so I'm calling this my Tiger Butterfly manicure!

I just love how rich a shade Jinx is, it's really special.

Born Pretty Stamping Plate BP-L029 ~ Florals

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

I have a real love for floral stamping patterns, so I was delighted when Born Pretty Store sent me a plate replete with pretty flowers to review ^_^

The L029 plate has 14 full-nail floral designs along with 7 individual flower images to match. They're just my style, delicate and romantic, so I ended up doing four different manicures to show them off. I'll talk about them one by one...

http://www.bornprettystore.com/tulip-pattern-nail-stamp-template-rose-image-plate-born-pretty-l029-65cm-p-21815.html

1. This first one is the mani I'm wearing right now. I started off with a sheer French base then stamped on the plate's blossom pattern in black. I used a dotting tool and a pink sheer I own, Nails Inc Strawberry, to colour in the flowers and topped off with some glitter.

2. For this mani I painted a sheer shimmering base, Fairy Dust by Collection, then stamped on a flower-packed design from the plate in black ^_^

3. Here I paired the full-nail tulip design with an individual tulip as an accent nail. I used Models Own Colour Chromes and Born Pretty's own stamping polish for the stamping. I was poorly and couldn't get the best photo, sorry!

4. The stamping plate also has a leaf pattern, which I stamped using Born Pretty's gold stamping polish over a deep purple since it's Autumn!

I wish my photos were a little more perfect but I really loved testing out this stamping plate and was very happy with my manicures!

Born Pretty Squishy Stamper Heads!

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Today I am reviewing an item which is very pertinent to me since stamping is my main nail art love! Born Pretty Store are selling a set of 5 squishy stamper heads with a holder, on sale right now for $3.99.

Up until now I've only had one stamper compared to other people who have veritable collections of them, so I was excited to receive these! The stamper heads are the squishy marshmallow type and they're rectangular. big enough to pick up a full-nail stamping design and then some. You choose one of the 5 colours and fit it into the holder. The stamper head stayed put for me throughout the test manicure I did, with no sign of falling out. I prepped the stamper simply by filing it very lightly with my glass nail file and it did its job wonderfully of picking up the image. Have a look:

http://www.bornprettystore.com/stamp-holder-5pcs-marshmallow-squishy-stamper-head-refill-head-p-21591.html

To test the stamper out I used another Born Pretty review item I have coming up, stamping plate BP-L029. I stamped the above floral image in black over Collection's Fairy Dust:

I was very happy with the process and the result! The stamper was easy to use and very forgiving when my hands were shaky, I feel. The resulting stamping is nice and clear and bold.

Next time I'll have more manis from that floral stamping plate ^_^

Cute Cat Water Decals!

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Today I am back with more water decal goodies from Born Pretty Store! This time my nails are covered in pretty kittens =^.^=

For $1.99 (there's a sale on) you get a sheet of 40 full-nail decals, separated into 4 different cat manicures. They're a mixture of styles including beautifully drawn kittens, oriental-style cartoon kittens in teacups and some funny kitty poses! What I did was mix and match between the sets to create my own mani.

To apply you cut the decals to fit your nails then submerge them in water for about 30 seconds. Then you can position them just right on your nails before smoothing them down and filing away the excess with a nail file. I found the decals to be slightly more rigid than the floral ones from my last review, making them a bit harder to get perfect, but I was still happy with the results. On my right hand are the sketched kittens and on my left are the more cartoony ones:

http://www.bornprettystore.com/patternssheet-cute-water-decals-cartoon-pattern-nail-transfers-stickers-p-22306.html

And, since this is a cat post, here is a bonus pic of my family cat, Vienna! I think she looks a little bit like the cat on my right ring finger ^_^

I think these decals are a must for cat lovers like me ~ they're so cute and fun. As always you can get 10% off your Born Pretty order with my coupon code, CMBQ10

Floral Water Decals

This post contains products which were sent to me for review :-)

Hello!

Last week I received a very exciting package containing my latest review items from Born Pretty Store, and the water decals were the first to catch my eye and make me want to do a manicure!

The Blooming Flowers water decal sheets come in 3 different flower designs and each have 13 full nail-shaped decals. You can choose the sizes that best fit your nails and apply them directly, or cut them to shape. How I applied them was to submerge them in water for maybe 30 seconds then slide them off the backing paper, fit them to my nails, smooth them down, then use a nail file and gentle pulling to remove the excess decal from my nail tips.

The decals are enough for very long nails so I decided to do a little extra with them by shaping the (dry) excess decal into a French tip! I applied Essie Mademoiselle like I would for a normal French manicure, but then applied the decals instead of painting a tip. I really liked the look of this, I hope you do too ^_^

http://www.bornprettystore.com/13pcssheet-blooming-flowers-water-decals-transfer-sticker-nail-stickers-p-21566.html

I think the Cath Kidston-style roses on teal are my favourite and, like I said, I really enjoyed wearing the decals as French tips. The quality of the decals was really great; I had no problems with application.

As always you can get 10% off your Born Pretty order with my coupon code, CMBQ10

I will be back on Wednesday with more water decal goodies!

Creepy Tree Branches Manicure

Hello!

I got into the Halloween spirit for Wednesday's manicure, and today I'm back with more spooky nail art! This one uses clingfilm and stamping to create a horror film style tree.

To start off I painted my nails a pearly white, Pearl by Barry M. Then I painted on a grey, Enigmatic by MeMeMe, and used the clingfilm technique to dab away and end up with an ominous, stormy sky look. I added top coat before stamping on top the bare tree from Born Pretty Store's BP-L015 stamping plate!

I'm really pleased with the end result! You can mix it up by choosing different colours for the background - I've also used purple before.

I've just received a new review pack from Born Pretty so will be posting next week with some lovely goodies! See you then!

Green Halloween Skittles Manicure

Hello!

We seem to begin celebrating Halloween earlier and earlier every year - I'm sure as a child in England we had the one day and that was it! Normally I don't dive into the premature celebrations, but I had an idea for a manicure and had to get it on my nails.

Barry M Meadow is supposed to be a Spring polish but I thought it looked just Frankenstein-y enough to act as a good base for this manicure! It also has a nice little shimmer to it. For the nail art I painted Illamasqua Swarm onto my ring finger, a black glitter mix which is a recent TKMaxx purchase of mine. On my middle finger I stamped a half-moon lace pattern from Born Pretty stamping plate 02. On my pinky finger I stamped a cross from MoYou stamping plate Gothic 06. From the same plate I stamped a little edging onto my index finger, which I topped with some shimmering black rhinestones from Charlies Nail Art.

This is the result!

I was quite pleased with this! I used to be a goth but nowadays it's quite unusual for me to wear this style. It was a little refreshing ^_^

Autumn Leaves Manicure

Hello!

I'm still having a great time doing my nails to match the season, and today's mani features some crisp Autumn leaf water decals! I bought the sheet for £1 from Charlies Nail Art and applied a variety of them over a nude base, Brides-To-Be by Essie:

What I love most is the colouring - they're mottled to perfectly resemble crisp, golden Autumn leaves. I still have lots of the decals left so I'll be trying to use them again before Winter hits! ^_^

Two Fuzzy Knit Manicures!

Hello!

Today's manicures feature one of my favourite nail art ideas to wear: knitted sweater nails! I wore the first one earlier in the week, and I liked it so much that I decided to create another one.

For the first mani I took a polish that I didn't really like when I first bought it, the textured pink Kingsland Road by Barry M, and used it as the base for something I knew I'd like ^_^ I stamped on a knit pattern in white using MoYou stamping plate Fashionista 03. This is the result!

For the second manicure I took my mini bottle of OPI Solitaire, a sparkling white textured polish that reminds me of crunchy snow. The bottle is definitely running out which is sad, because it's a perfect polish for Winter too. On top of Solitaire I stamped the sweater pattern from Nail Craze stamping plate NC03 using MeMeMe's Enigmatic. For fun I added a Hand Tattoo from MoYou! Here we are..

Both manis are warm and fuzzy and they genuinely look like textiles to me, which is what makes sweater manis so fun to wear!

See you on Monday,

A Sheer and a Glitter!

Hello!

Today I have two romantic, feminine manicures to show you - a French sheer and a pink glitter!

Mademoiselle by Essie is the latest addition to my collection of sheers. I have a real soft spot for French sheers and this polish does not disappoint! It's a beautiful pink with a touch of creaminess which builds as you add coats. It comes with a wide brush which, along with the nice formula, gives smooth and non-streaky coverage. Normally I would apply one or two coats as a base for nail art, but here are three to show off Mademoiselle in her own right:

*sigh* I'm in love.

Later I decided to use Mademoiselle as a base for a glitter mani. I applied two coats of the gorgeous Pink Fizz by Models Own, with a coat of Essie Stroke of Brilliance sandwiched in between them for a little purple glitter accent. Pink Fizz is such a gorgeous shade of pink so I was very happy!

I hope you like these manicures!

Ciaté ~ Love Letters

Hello!

Welcome to my first scheduled post! From now on you'll see regular Geordie Nails posts on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes, with bonus posts if I've been doing a lot of manis. Hopefully this will give a bit more structure to the blog without being restrictive. Thanks so much to those of you who commented and gave me valuable feedback ^_^

Today's manicure shows off another of my glitter purchases from TKMaxx last week! Love Letters by Ciaté is a very warm-coloured glitter, pink with a duochrome flash of orange. It consists of very fine glitter with larger pieces mixed in. Disappointingly it doesn't quite give full coverage so I had to apply two coats over a base of pink polish (Vivacious by MeMeMe). Here it is...

I really love the look of this mani; the duochrome gives it an extra dimension and the result is warm and romantic like its name. I only wish it gave better coverage on its own!

See you on Wednesday!

TKMaxx Glitter Manicure

Hello!

Yesterday I managed to get out and go shopping in Newcastle for the first time in a long time. As it's such a rare occasion I decided to treat myself to some new polishes, two of which I am currently wearing in a manicure!

I would thoroughly recommend checking out your local TKMaxx right now because the Newcastle Northumberland Street store had lots of VERY nice polishes for sale. Illamasqua, Essie, OPI, Models Own, Ciaté, Nails Inc... I had to put a few amazing bargains back on the shelf so I didn't spend too much, but I walked out with three glitter polishes: Love Letter by Ciaté, Swarm by Illamasqua and Stroke of Brilliance by Essie.

The latter two are what I used for this manicure. Swarm is my first Illamasqua nail polish and it's a black glitter mix; I was disappointed to open it and discover that it's a topper glitter rather than giving full coverage, but it's still a beautiful and special polish. Stroke of Brilliance is a jewel-like pale purple topper glitter. Here is a mix of both worn over Barry M Indigo:

I really like the two together ^_^ Indigo makes a lovely base and I'm sure I'll be wearing it again through the Autumn.

You may well be seeing the Ciaté glitter next!

Moonlight Leaves Manicure

Hello!

Firstly, can I please ask my readers a question? Does it make a difference to you whether a blogger posts to a schedule or just writes whenever inspiration strikes them? Would Geordie Nails be more readable if I posted at the same time, say, every Wednesday and Sunday (with maybe a bonus post sometimes)? If you could let me know in a comment that'd be brilliant! xx

Onto the manicure, which continues my run of autumnal nails! I bought a sheet of silver leaves nail foil from Charlies Nail Art and applied it over Barry M Indigo...

I really liked the colours on this ^_^ I think I need a new nail foil glue because it didn't stick properly in parts - luckily it maybe even helped the mani because it added a bit of authenticity to the leaves!!!

Geordie Nails Autumn Week ~ Sparkling Golds

Hello!

I've been posting photos of my Autumn-inspiring nail polishes all week both on the blog and on Instagram! I haven't quite written about them all here due to tiredness but today I have two manicures to show featuring sparkling autumnal golds.

The first polish is a Limited Edition Barry M for Superdrug! I can't find its name but it must have been released either last Autumn or the one before. It is a bar glitter featuring shades of gold and copper; I don't normally buy bar glitter but this one reminds me of fireworks and fallen leaves simultaneously and it's just perfect for the season. Here is one coat over the deep wine shade Victoria by Nails Inc, also a perfect autumnal polish:

The second polish is a textured glitter by Seventeen at Boots, called Charm Bracelet. It has a vintage feel to it - champagne gold with darker glitter pieces thrown in - and it's absolutely gorgeous in my eyes:

What do you think of my choices?!

I've now got some Autumn nail art in mind so hopefully I'll be back soon with piccies!

Geordie Nail Autumn Week ~ Cloudy Skies!

Hello!

This latest polish for my Autumn week of manicures is called Cloudy Skies, by an indie maker called The Polish Bar. I bought it from a blog sale a couple of years ago. I don't own a lot of indies (I'm not involved enough in the scene to know who's best to buy from), so this polish stands out in my collection as being lovely and unique.

Cloudy Skies consists of very fine purple glitter and larger pieces of purple and silver glitter, all suspended in a grey crelly base. It's qualified for my Autumn Week because it so beautifully represents its name - it must be difficult to make the idea of cloudy skies gorgeous, but The Polish Bar managed it for me! Here are 3 coats:

I love it ^_^ It makes me tempted to go indie shopping despite my ignorance! Does anyone have a favourite indie (especially UK makers)?

Geordie Nails Autumn Week ~ Hidden Treasure & Spiced Plum

Hello!

This is the second post for my Autumn Week of manicures. As luck would have it I was ill all of yesterday so couldn't get any painting or blogging done, but here I am!

This manicure consists of two old favourite polishes and I'd forgotten just how much I love them, especially together! I first wore this mani four years ago. Spiced Plum is by Seventeen at Boots and it's a glossy, brown-leaning purple. I think the years have turned the shade slightly more brown, but it's still wearable. Hidden Treasure is a flakie glitter by Sally Hansen; I seem to remember it being the polish of the moment at one time!

Here is a close-up of that flakie goodness...

...and here is Spiced Plum on its own:

Hopefully I'll be well enough to keep the Autumn manicures coming!

Geordie Nails Autumn Week ~ Facets of Fuschia

Hello!

Since the seasons are most definitely changing, I decided to have a hunt through my very dusty nail polish collection and pick out some favourites for an Autumn Week! These are polishes I've worn during the cooler months in years past and which evoke the season very fondly (and prettily) for me.

My first pick was Facets of Fuschia by Revlon and it's proven to be a very fitting one in terms of evoking memories! I checked my blog archive and it turns out I first wore it when announcing my engagement, four whole years ago. The relationship didn't last but it's not a sour memory at all; I look back on it with fondness (though not at my dark and blurry photos of the polish!).

Facets of Fuschia is still tricky to photograph; it consists of two different sizes of fuschia glitter suspended in a sheer black base to give the polish depth. I painted one coat over a dark navy base, Navy Baby by Sally Hansen, and added extra top coat for even more depth and sparkle:

Does anyone else own Facets of Fuschia? I remember there being a big craze over it when it launched 4 years ago!

Giveaway Update: One of my winners has already responded (I only emailed them last night) and will be sent her MoYou Hand Tattoos! I'll keep you updated.

Hugs,
